As always excellent but the monk fish was a little insipid.

More about Mon Plaisir

One of the oldest French restaurants in London, 2 AA Rosette award-winning Mon Plaisir on Monmouth Street has been serving delectable French cuisine for over half a century.

Decorated in French artefacts, Mon Plaisir - London resonates with a nostalgic atmosphere of decadent France throughout its 4 individual dining rooms. Mon Plaisir also features a pewter topped bar which once graced the lounge of a Lyonnaise brothel.

Mon Plaisir Covent Garden continues to serve traditional cuisine created from the finest French ingredients and carefully prepared by the restaurant’s highly skilled chefs. Signature dishes include snails in garlic and parsley butter and the fillet of sea bream with mustard sauce, exuding a real French flair. There is also a slick wine list which predominantly features fine French wines.

With its fine French food and authentic ambience, Mon Plaisir is just a 7-minute walk from Covent Garden Tube Station. Mon Plaisir has been acknowledged in fine restaurant guides, including Hardens, Square Meal, Via Michelin and The Good Food Guide.

Usual relaxed atmosphere with friendly welcome and service. Menu broad enough to offer choice with good value. Consistent feeling of exiting having thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

'Mon Plaisir' Is the most delightful family run French Restaurant, everything on the menu is brilliant, the daily menu is great value. My dining companion is disabled, they could not have been more accommodating and helpful ditto also with young families with push chairs and prams. The ex-pat French dine here, what more can be said!

Excellent food, service and ambience. It was so French that we had some difficulty understanding the waiter - it was just like being in Paris. Altogether a lovely evening out.

Excellent as always. Mon Plaisair really is good eating experience: not a short-term "Hipster joint" with too many exotic ingredients and tiny portions. My companion & I could have a conversations with out shouting to be heard. Lovely food, good service and helpful staff, without being over attentive.
